Faraday Cups

RadiaBeam offers a line of basic and custom Faraday Cups for a range of electron beam charge measurements. Our basic Faraday Cups are 50 Ohm impedance matched for ease of measurmeent and are housed in standard vacuum hardware.

 

Enhancements to our basic Faraday Cups are available, including different sizes, secondary emission suppression, cooling, and input imaging screens. Units with graphite - rather than aluminum - beam stops are available for minimizing X-ray production.

35 MeV Faraday Cup on 2.75" Flange

Low Energy Faraday Cup 2.75 Flange

 

Our low energy faraday cup is mounted on a standard 2.75" CF flange and comes fitted with a 2.75" nipple allowing for compact installation. The device is bakeable to over 200°C. A standard BNC feedthrough provides the charge signal, and the cup is impedance matched to 50Ω, allowing for high rep rate measurements. Other features include:

135 MeV Faraday Cup on 4.5" Flange

The RadiaBeam Technologies Mid-Energy Faraday Cup is a beamline diagnostic used to measure the charge of a pulsed beam. It is mounted on an SMA vacuum feedthrough with a 8.25” long, 4.5” Conflat nipple. The Faraday Cup is impedance matched to 50Ω; the output reading on an oscilloscope yields information proportional to the beam charge. The Faraday Cup will accurately operate with electron beams up to 135 MeV.

35 MeV Faraday Cup on 4.5" Flange

The RadiaBeam Technologies FARC-05 Low Energy Faraday Cup is a beamline diagnostic used to measure the charge of a pulsed beam. It is mounted on a BNC vacuum feedthrough with a 8.25” long, 4.5” Conflat nipple. The FaradayCup is impedance matched to 50 allowing for bunch-to-bunch measurements. The Faraday Cup will accurately operate with electron beams up to 35 MeV. The FARC-05 has a larger stopper than the FARC-02.

80 MeV Faraday Cup on 2.75" Flange

The RadiaBeam Technologies Mid-Energy Faraday Cup is a beamline diagnostic used to measure the charge of a pulsed beam. It is impedance matched to 50Ω; the output reading on an oscilloscope yields information proportional to the beam charge. The Faraday Cup will accurately operate with electron beams up to 80 MeV.
