Here are two models of picture frame steering magnets. The Small Steering Magnet is perfect for fitting in between tight spaces on a low-energy beam line. The Medium Steering Magnet is a longer, higher-field version for higher energies. They both feature an iron core and two independently powered pairs of coils (for X and Y steering). Clamps are available for easy mounting.

Beamline Steerer Stand

Our fixed height stands are the most basic mounting configuration for our steering magnets. They are non-magnetic and hard anodized for a robust and attractive finish. Email us for pricing.

Beampipe Steering Magnet Clamp

Our beampipe clamps are used to mount our Picture Frame Steering Magnets directly to round beampipes. They are ideal for our smaller epoxy-cast steering magnets and are available for most common beampipe sizes up to 2.5" (465 mm). The standard material is Delrin® but aluminum and copper are also available.

Small Steering Magnet, STM-01-340-110

Our Small Steering Magnet uses AISI 1008 steel yokes wrapped with Epoxy-ported copper conductor. It's small footprint (1.1 in / 28 mm) makes it ideal for installation in compact beamlines. It is conveniently ready for immediate use.

  • 13.4 cm magnetic length
  • Fits around a 3-3/8 in CF (DN50) flange

Med. Steering Magnet, STM-01-340-138

Our medium steering magnet is a stronger version of our small steering magnet for higher energies and more extreme steering needs. Like the small steerer, it can be mounted directly on the beampipe or over a flange.

"Picture Frame" Steering Magnet

Picture frame steering magnets have become the staple for correction of beams under 100 MeV. They feature 1008 iron core and two independently powered pairs of coils for X and Y steering. The magnet opens for mounting over beampipes and flanges.
